In late 2009, the Chamber introduced a new benefit-based membership investment structure. This tiered benefits system allows business owners to choose the amounts and types of benefits they want and need from the Chamber, and to invest accordingly.

Networking

The Flagler County Chamber offers ample opportunities to meet people, make contacts, exchange ideas and interact with others. After all, it’s not just what you know but who you know. One of the Chamber’s principle roles is to help members meet people who can help their businesses grow. Nearly every Chamber event provides networking time before and after the formal portion of the program, but here are a few networking "best bets" to get started:

Marketing

The Flagler County Chamber of Commerce offers member businesses the exclusive opportunity to promote, market and advertise through our publications, communications and events. Both paid and unpaid opportunities are available.  Click on the links below for specifics.

Flagler Chamber Phone Book: Members receive a complimentary listing in the Membership Directory section of this Gold Book award-winning publication while receiving discounts on advertisements in the yellow pages.

Fantastic Flagler - Visitor & Relocation Guide: Chamber’s award-winning visitor and newcomer guide is published each spring, and is the only local newcomer guide mailed to Canada, Europe and throughout the United States. Members receive a complimentary listing with opportunities to advertise.

Flaglerknows.com: Online directory for Flagler County that allows residents, businesses, visitors and tourists to search, find, discover and share area information from their desktops, laptops and mobile phones.

Published and distributed to more than 1,200 professionals and community partners each month, “The Network” newsletter is filled with useful information for local businesses including a calendar of events, announcements, new member listings, tourism updates and more. Members may advertise for as low as $30 per month for a business card size ad, and have their events and news included in the “Focus on Flagler” section for free.

Chamber Chat radio show: All members are welcome to join Gretchen Smith as a guest on Chamber Chat, which airs Sunday mornings at 10 a.m. on WNZF 1063. FM/1550 AM. The show tapes on Tuesdays for broadcast on Sundays. Call today to reserve your interview 386.437.0106.

Member2Member: This email communications tool allows members to share their news, sales and specials directly with other members. Member2Member is published on the 15th of the month. Submissions should be sent here by the 10th of each month and should not exceed 100 words.

Member 1st Discount Program: Reach 1,000 members and take advantage of discounts provided by Chamber members exclusively for other members.

Membership Mailing Labels: The Chamber provides hard copies of its mailing list to members for a nominal fee.

Exposure

Directory Listings: Members are listed in the Chamber’s annual publications, Flagler Chamber Phone Book and Fantastic Flagler. As a member, your business will be included in both publications and distributed to newcomers, visitors and 50,000 residents in Flagler County.

Visitor Center: Members can display collateral in the Chamber’s Visitor Center, which averages more than 200 visitors each month.

Ribbon Cutting/Grand Opening Ceremonies: Members wishing to raise visibility for their businesses can host a ribbon cutting ceremony or open house with the Chamber’s help. This benefit generates positive publicity for  new, expanding or relocating businesses.

Sponsorships: The Chamber offers a range of sponsorship opportunities for businesses looking to increase their visibility in exchange for underwriting Chamber events. Seminars / Workshops

• Navigating Your Chamber/ New Member Orientation: This member-orientation event provides an overview of benefits, services and products available to members, as well as a networking opportunity. The Chamber invites and encourages all members to attend, particularly new members, new employees and others wishing an update on Chamber benefits and programs.
• Back to Business Seminar Series: In conjunction with SCORE, the Chamber organizes seminars each year with the small business owner in mind. These events cover a range of relevant topics, making these valuable educational and networking opportunities.
• Palm Coast Meet & Greet: Sponsored by the Palm Coast Chamber, these quarterly networking breakfasts include guest speakers on topics affecting the local business community.
• Business & Biscuits: Sponsored by the Bunnell Chamber, these quarterly networking breakfasts include guest speakers on topics affecting the local business community.

Leadership Flagler: Leadership Flagler is one of nearly 700 programs nationwide devoted to shaping high-profile community leaders. The comprehensive three-month program focuses on key aspects of Flagler County and its future development including business, government, health & human services, art & culture, agriculture and growth management. Through education and networking, Leadership Flagler provides tools and experiences necessary to develop well-rounded community leaders. Since its start in 1993, Leadership Flagler has graduated 180 professionals committed to helping Flagler County thrive.

Business Resource Center: Need a service? A new website feature, “Business Connect” is a free resource to post and receive bids for service. Anyone can submit a bid request, but only qualifying members are notified if the bid applies to their business category.

Business Advocacy

“Voice of Business Community” - Direct representation to local government

• Business Issues Committee: Addresses local, state and national legislative issues that affect our local businesses.
• Sign Ordinance Committee: Issued by Board of Directors as needed to address community issues and Chamber policies and stances.
• Membership Committee: Reviews current membership procedures and benefits, and determine if positive changes can be made. The diversified group provides input to the Chamber staff on improvements and recommendations to enhance benefits in the future. benefits.
• Education Committee: Assists the local school district and colleges to identify areas in which the Chamber and its members may provide resources for the betterment of those institutions.
